Overview

Commissionaires BC is looking for versatile and highly motivated security professionals to augment our team in the Southern Interior. As a successful candidate you must be:

The Kelowna Office serves the entire Southern Interior Region and is located at 103 – 346 Lawrence Ave, Kelowna, BC V1Y 6L4, phone 250 979 4773. As a successful candidate you must:

  • be physically fit, highly reliable, have excellent interpersonal and verbal communications skills, work well under pressure;
  • be able to pass a criminal background check and enhanced security clearance.

Job Profile

Under the direction of the Operational Management, the commissionaire will follow established, post orders indicative to the site, location, or contract you are assigned to. Duties include:

  • conduct mobile patrol;
  • provide protection at jail cells and hospitals;
  • mobile, foot and post patrol at commercial sites.

Commissionaires BC is an active participant in the Lone Worker Monitoring program for all employees working alone.

Confidentiality is a must, along with providing superior customer service, security, and protection to clients and the client’s property and assets. Duties include:.

  • ensuring client property is secure in accordance with post orders;
  • completing daily logs and written reports as necessary;
  • patrolling site and securing premises as required by site post orders.

Required Education, Qualifications & Experience

  • BST Level 1 and 2 is a must; Commissionaires BC is willing to train the right candidate. training includes:
     > Basic Standards Training (BST) 1 and 2
     > Occupational First Aid Level 1
     > SuperHost
  • Military or RCMP experience is a plus
  • Basic Security clearance is preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to walk large areas, sit or stand for extended periods of time, indoors and out.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Leadership skills
