Commissionaires BC Celebrates 80 Years of Service

The 80th anniversary and the launch of its new brand mark the beginning of a new chapter in the life of Commissionaires. This new brand is just one element in a series of national strategies to marshal the local strength and commitment of the 17 Commissionaires’ divisions to provide unmatched security and related services in Canada from coast to coast to coast.

“We are proud of our 80 years of service to BC, and are determined to be around for the next 80 years, which is why we are expanding our services to better meet our clients’ evolving needs,” says Allen Batchelar, President & CEO of Commissionaires BC.

“This signals a renewed, reinvigorated, and refocused national organization with community strength and national reach,” said Doug Briscoe, Executive Director, Commissionaires Canada.

The two year re-branding process was driven by the development of a new set of national strategies intended to extend and sustain Commissionaires’ national competitive advantage in the delivery of a broad range of security services, from consulting and training to state-of-the-art digital fingerprinting. The new tag line, “Trusted · Everyday · Everywhere,” captures in simple terms the essence of Commissionaires. The new brand will be rolled out by the regional divisions across the country in the coming months.

“As we worked through a new national strategy to keep Commissionaires competitive, it just seemed like the right time to evolve our brand to meet the changing needs of our clients and commissionaires. We’re delighted with the outcome,” noted Allen Batchelar, who is also Chair of the National Business Management Committee, which represents the entire Commissionaires network of offices.

The new logo that has emerged from the re-branding process represents a more contemporary and progressive image that symbolizes the modernization of the organization. For example, the colours have changed from red and blue to orange and navy blue. These bold new colours emphasize trust and energy. As well, the wordmark is strong and business-like and captures graphically the idea of safety and security. Finally, the icon is versatile to reflect the breadth of services offered by Commissionaires.
