Commissionaires Lead the Way in Certified Protection
Third Commissionaires Officer Awarded Highly Coveted Certified Protection Professional Designation
Toronto, ON (April 1st, 2008) – Commissionaires, Canada’s premier private security provider for more than eighty years, now has one more reason to lay claim to its long standing reputation as the leading securities solution firm in the country with the announcement that Randy Warden, Chief Operations Officer at Commissionaires Great Lakes, has recently received his Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation through the American Society for Industrial Security. He joins Mark Van Den Bossche, Director of Operations for Commissionaires Great Lakes Western Region, and Richard Kedzierski, Director of Sales at Commissionaires Great Lakes, as one of a select group of security management professionals in the world who have received this accreditation.
Jim Watts, President and CEO of Commissionaires Great Lakes, congratulates Randy for joining this select group of individuals within this one branch of Commissionaires Canada. “We are of course very proud of Mark, Rick, and now Randy as well, but most of us who work with them every day are not surprised. These gentlemen come to work every day and demonstrate the commitment to professionalism and the best practices that make them three of the most skilled and knowledgeable individuals in this business.”
The CPP is rapidly becoming the virtual gold seal of approval in security solutions and best business practices. This rigorous process of accreditation has meant there are only 5,600 recipients with this designation worldwide since the program began in 1977.
The curriculum covers eight domains of security management: security principles and practices, investigations, legal aspects, personnel security, physical security, emergency practices, business principles and practices and information security. Those who complete the course are clearly able to ensure that private security firms can adequately complement police forces in communities across the country.
Corey Hill, a Certified Protection Professional as well as the Manager of Corporate Security for the City of London, Ontario, is a client who can vouch for the difference it makes when dealing with accredited security professionals like Mr. Warden and Mr. Van Den Bossche. “What we have found in our dealings with companies is that there is a big difference between those firms which are in the security business and the firms which are truly in the business of security. In my dealings with Mark Van Den Bossche, when we talk about real security solutions, we’re communicating on the same level. There’s a professionalism and a level of expertise in the field which makes all the difference.”
Jim Watts believes accreditation of this kind is not only good business sense in a fiercely competitive marketplace, but it creates a better infrastructure for the sector as a whole. “We are not only committed to providing superior security for our clients, but a big part of our mandate is to provide good security jobs, especially for those who have returned from serving our country. More CPP graduates means we are not only fostering excellence for the industry, but also for our professionals across the country.”
