Colonel P.J. (Peter) Kramers, CD
Commandant / CEO, Commissionaires NB & PEI
Colonel Peter Kramers was appointed CEO of Commissionaires New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island in 2010. He is responsible for the supervision, management, administration, financial organization and discipline of the company—which manages four Commissionaires offices spanning two provinces, 854 employees and 95 regular contracts.
Peter is distinguished with national and international expertise in coordination, training, leadership and marketing. Prior to joining Commissionaires, he worked with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague (Netherlands) from 1998 to 2001, the Department of Peacekeeping Operations of the United Nations (New York) from 2001 to 2003, and the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre in Cornwallis and Halifax from 2004 to 2010
Throughout 25 years of distinguished service in the Canadian Armed Forces, Peter served in a variety of command and staff positions in Canada, the United States and Germany, retiring at the rank of Colonel.
Peter is a graduate of the Collège militaire royal de Saint-Jean, (St-Jean, Quebec), the US Army Command and General Staff College (Leavenworth, Kansas), and the Royal Military College of Science (Shrivenham, UK).
Additionally, he is a recipient of the Canadian Forces Decoration (CD), the Special Service Medal (SSM) for service to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the UN Medal for Service in Cyprus, and the US Meritorious Service Medal.
