CEO, Commissionaires Nova Scotia
Geoffrey Hamilton has been CEO of Commissionaires Nova Scotia since joining the organization in September 2018. Prior to Commissionaires, he worked for three and a half years in Myanmar where he was CEO of Exera, the country’s leading security risk management firm, and for a number of years in South Sudan where he developed an agro-forestry project. He began his career in the Royal Canadian Navy and is still active in the reserve, where he holds the rank of Commander and is Chief of Staff of a formation of 900 personnel. He completed his undergraduate degree at Dalhousie University, earned a master’s degree in law specializing in international dispute resolution from the University of London (Queen Mary and University Colleges), and is a graduate of the Canadian Forces College’s Joint Command and Staff Programme. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
