CEO, Commissionaires Hamilton
In 2010, John Livingstone was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Commissionaires Hamilton. Over the course of 13 years leading up to this appointment, John held various senior management roles within the company. He first served as Operations Manager from 1999-2000. He then served as Director of Operations for 10 years—a position that required operational efficiency at 52 security and bylaw enforcement detachments in 11 municipalities, as well as leadership and support provided to 375 commissionaires.
Additionally, John served as Detachment Commander of Mohawk College (1998-1999) and Security Officer at the Canada Centre for Inland Waters (1997-1998).
John earned respect as an advisor and leader during a 22-year career in the Canadian Forces. He retired in 1997 as a Warrant Officer in Communications and Electronics, with an extensive background in training and operations.
His military decorations include the Canadian Forces Decoration (CD), United Nations Peacekeeping Medal- Golan Heights, two tours (UNDOF 2), Special Service Medal NATO (SSM), Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal (CPSM), United States Army Achievement Medal (USAAM), Commissionaires Long Service Medal (CLSM), and Commissionaires Distinguished Service Medal (CDSM).
An OSSD Level IV graduate, John’s continuing education includes language studies in French and German as well as considerable training in senior leadership and management.
Additionally, he is an active member of the Niagara College Police Foundations Law and Security Program Advisory Committee, the Mohawk College Public Safety and Security Services Advisory Committee, and the Hamilton Signals Advisory Support Group.
